Dear KIS Community,
The end of April already, and the start of a new month tomorrow signals the start of a new phase in learning to live with Covid. Yesterday the school sent out a letter summarising the changes to our SOP, based on the latest news from the Government and Ministries. Please make sure you are aware of the changes. Our updated SOP will be published shortly after we return from this holiday.
Thank you to all the parents, students and staff who joined us for the beach clean, organised last weekend by the Eco-Warriors. In just a few short hours over 150Kg of rubbish was cleared from the Beach as well as nearly 300 plastic bottles. You can still bring your plastic bottles to school and help us get to 1000 bottles by June.
It is always lovely to hear how our alumni are doing and it was excellent to learn how Leilana Pilcher has recently been awarded an academic excellence scholarship at Griffith University where she has been studying a bachelors (BSc) in Wildlife Biology. The excellence award is worth 25% of her tuition. Well done Leilana.
With May Day and Raya we have an extended break. Wherever you may be headed or if you are staying home, I wish you a healthy and relaxing break. We look forward to seeing you all back in school on Thursday 5th May.
