Welcome back KIS!

Though we may have had a well earned one week break, since the return of our teachers on Monday it has been all action with so many amazing things taking place.
On Monday it was a joy to farewell the KIS Vipers Under 15 FOBISIA squad as they headed off to Thailand for 3 days of competition with other schools from the region.Though the excitement was high and everyone was aspirational for a successful trip, no one on Monday thought the trip would be quite as successful as it was.
Ms. Watt will give a more thorough report, however I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight the team’s incredible efforts. The Vipers won 1st place in both the boys and girls basketball as well as 1st place in Athletics and 2nd place in swimming. There were many individual accolades and it is wonderful to note that all competitors medalled in at least one event.
A huge congratulations to the team and as far as I am able to work out, this is the most successful FOBISIA competition for KIS in our long history as part of the organization.
Thank you to all involved for your efforts and we look forward to welcoming you back.
While the Vipers were busy dominating at FOBISIA, things in school were just as busy and successful, particularly in Primary where week 1 of Enterprise Fortnight was underway.
I was fortunate enough to spend part of Thursday listening to ‘Dragon’s Den’ style pitches from the Primary students. The students had spent the first part of the week devising different businesses and conducting market research across the school. It was the task of Mr. Beresford and I to determine how much we would invest into their businesses based on the strength of their pitch.
The confidence with which the students spoke and the effort they had put in to ensure their businesses would be successful was truly phenomenal. A special mention must go to Year 5 who not only had a thorough business pitch but complimented it with an entertaining rap performance to convince Mr. B and I to invest.
Magnificent work like that of the Primary students during Enterprise Fortnight and the prowess of the Vipers on the sporting field does not happen in a vacuum. It is thanks to the continued efforts of parents and our teachers sharing a common goal and vision for the children. To nurture them as global citizens and support and challenge them to be the best versions of themselves.
I am very excited about the next 9 weeks of school and all of the many more wonderful events and achievements to come for our school community.
