From the Principal 22.06.2019
Dear KIS Community,
Congratulations to all of our Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award students for completing their adventurous journey this week. This is a tremendous achievement and I hope now to see them move on to their Gold Awards. Thank you to all staff who have helped, guided and mentored them along the way.
Earlier this week, Year 2 experienced a night away from home and enjoyed a sleepover at school. Primary students danced the night away with their end of year discos last night and students in Years 7-10 are probably asking for a more relaxing weekend now that they have finished their internal examinations. Rather than relax at home, why not join the Eco-Warriors on the Beach for their third and final beach clean today at Taman Awam Teluk Likas 1 Fasal from 9am, remember to bring some gloves, hat, sunscreen and water. If you’d prefer to be indoors though, pop along to Imago Mall where we are supporting Gleneagles Hospital at the ‘Me, Mum and Dad’ Roadshow throughout the day.
With just two weeks left of the school year we still have so much going on. The Year 12’s have another week of work experience and Year 10’s start theirs next week. The Primary Production of Olivia (I hope you have your tickets), Enterprise, Summer Fair, Geography Trips, Swim Gala and of course, KIS Has Talent. Please note that on the last day of school (Friday, July 5th) children will be finishing at 11.30am, please make arrangements to pick up promptly.
Please check your emails for Parent Letters that were sent earlier this week, also your children would have received a copy of the Yearbook which has a multitude of wonderful memories from across the year. School photos, if you ordered them, are also ready for collection from the school reception.
Finally, a reminder to parents (and drivers) not to use the Mosque Compound to park and walk through their gate. Please can we respect our neighbour’s wishes and use just the car park adjacent to the mosque with access from our road.
I wish you all an enjoyable weekend,
Ian Gross
