Dear KIS Community,

A huge and heartfelt thank you to all of our students, staff, parents and Board members. Our two visitors from CIS had an extremely productive week and met with so many members of our community. Early feedback was that our mission and vision is clearly underpinning what we do and was apparent in many of their interactions and observations. The politeness, independence and maturity of the students were mentioned on many occasions. Having met Dr Eric Jabal and Mr John Todd this week, we can feel proud of what we have achieved so far and they have both offered some solid advice on how we can further improve what we do and what we offer. I did promise I would pass on their gratitude and well-wishes for the welcome and hospitality they received from the KIS community. I will of course give more feedback once their CIS report has been completed and passed on to us later on this term.

The half-term holiday is upon us, if you haven’t already, why not register for the Walk for Freedom this morning in school and come down to support a great cause. Check previous letters for further details. If you are travelling, I wish you safe travels and a great holiday.

We come back to school on Tuesday 29th and please remember to complete your Deepavali CDs as these will be going on display shortly after, ready for our record attempt of recycled decorations. You will be able to see these on display on the 30th. Also on the 30th we may have a surprise special guest appearance for those of you who have been at KIS for five years or more. On 31st, the Student Council and Charity Committee are organising a scary school day and I believe more news will be sent shortly. Friday 1st sees the much anticipated annual return of the secondary sports day at Penampang Stadium and at the weekend, the 2nd Global Warming Exhibition will take place in the school hall.

You can see we have a busy week after we come back, so make sure you are well rested. Check your emails for more details of upcoming events and I hope to see many of you at school for the Walk for Freedom this morning.

I wish you all a lovely half term holiday, see you on Tuesday 29th.
