Dear KIS Community,

Our Primary FOBISIA squad, the Vipers, returned home triumphant after a long weekend of sun, rain and competition. They were not expecting the hero’s welcome they received at the airport. Mum’s, Dad’s, siblings, Grandparents and friends were there chanting and cheering as the KIS team came through the gates and watched in amazement. Well done and thank you to the teachers (Ms Watt, Mr Green, Mrs Colbeck and Ms Westaway) for organising and looking after the group. Thank you to our supportive parents and families, it was a great way to welcome the Vipers home. Read more about their sporting achievements in the sports section.

In Secondary, our Duke of Edinburgh students completed an exhausting trek for their adventurous journey, whilst a quieter return to school, no less well deserved were their accomplishments this past weekend and our thanks to Ms McNut, Mr Colbeck, Mr Withers and Ms Dobson for supporting them all.

We will be having another Coffee Morning later this month on 22nd May (after drop off at 8am) and our topic for discussion will be student behaviour, culture and expectations. As always there will be an opportunity to discuss general school issues with members of the school’s leadership team. We look forward to seeing you there.

Having mentioned briefly before, I can now confirm the school will be holding a memorial assembly in school for Nicholas Chong on Thursday 23rd May at 10.30am. Further details will be sent to all members of our community in due course.

Examinations are going well for IGCSE’s and A levels, we wish all of our students the best of luck with these and of course, as a reminder, students are welcome to come in to school for revision and support from their teachers. Please remember to sign in and out at the main gate. Assessment tests are also being scheduled for many other students across the school and these will help us gauge the progress your children are making.  Results will be shared with parents as soon as they become available.

I wish you all a restful weekend,

Ian Gross
