From the Principal, 06.04.19
Dear KIS Community,
A huge thank you to everyone who was able to join us last Saturday for the Family Fun Day. Thank you also for so many positive comments about the day. On behalf of everyone there, I really must thank Mrs Rose, Ms Westaway, Ms Dobson and the Student Council for all of their hard work in making sure the day was as successful as it was. My thanks to all the staff who gave up some time to support the day. Plans are already being made for the Summer Fair; watch this space.
The Book Fair has gone very well this past week and I am pleased to see so many students, parents and staff having a look and purchasing some books. We are planning to repeat the Fair next year with a bigger selection and wider range of age appropriate books and we will of course let you know when the dates have been set on the calendar. Thank you for taking part this time, you have helped the school purchase books for the library, very much appreciated.
This past week has been extremely student centred with assemblies and awards celebrating the students’ success and achievements. Not forgetting, a very adorable KS1 production of Peter Pan (well done and thank you to our Story-Sack Mums for awesome costumes). It has been a week where I have had great pride for our school and its community, seeing the efforts of our children being recognised and rewarded. Thank you to all of our staff who have worked tirelessly throughout this term to ensure the learning is engaging, challenging and enjoyable.
I would like to thank Mrs Renshaw and Mrs Russell for organising excellent and enjoyable final assemblies in Secondary and Primary. Well done to all of our Queen tribute acts, you worked so hard and performed so well, it really was a difficult decision to choose just one house as a winner. You were all champions. I must also thank our ground staff for their bravery in performing in front of the school. They did a fantastic job and I am sure we will be hearing from them again.
I am looking forward to the Primary Sports Day, Teacher Appreciation, the long awaited Romeo & Juliet (and, dare I say it, the start of the Exams). It may be a shorter term but it is still going to be just as busy. However, before that we do have a holiday. Wherever you are going for the holiday or if you are staying here in Sabah, I wish you a safe and relaxing break and look forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday 22nd April.
