CELEBRATION ASSEMBLIES

The morning of our last day of term was buzzing with jubilation with celebration assemblies across the school!
Thank you to all parents and students who participated in the assembly via Zoom – it was lovely seeing so many of you!

PRIMARY HOUSEPOINT AWARDS!

HOUSEPOINT TOTALS

Despite the strange times and our switch to online learning for the last part of this school year, Primary students continued to show just how hard they can work in any situation and housepoints were still earned for their dedication.

Whilst we didn’t celebrate the achievements on a weekly basis, as we would normally do when in school, we have kept records of all the points earned and we were able to celebrate the final housepoint totals in our virtual end of year assembly.

Throughout the year we have awarded an astounding 35,279 housepoints to pupils across all of Primary. This worked out on average that 1 housepoint was earned by someone every 2 minutes! What a fantastic record to have KIS! We are so proud of all your hard work and your achievements for your House teams!

After a very close battle this year, a little more than 3,000 points separated all 3 houses and final positions in the housepoint battle were:

In 3rd place, with 10,753 housepoints is SAPI!

In 2nd place, with 10,842 housepoints is GAYA!

In 1st place, with 13,684 housepoints is SULUG!

Congratulations to our overall champions for this school year! I cannot wait to see you all back in August when we will be ready to start the battle once more!

I wish you all a very safe and happy summer break and look forward to awarding more housepoints in August.

HOUSEPOINT AWARDS

We were so proud to be able to end the year on a very positive note with the presentation of 298 Housepoint Awards to individual students throughout Primary. What a massive total and a fantastic achievement, showing the continued dedication to their work despite the unusual way we ended this school year.

I am especially proud that 1 child in F2, Year 4 and Year 5 were awarded the very first Principal’s Awards for their achievements in earning 220 housepoints.

Again, I’m super excited to start the new school year in August and see the amazing achievements that our KIS pupils can reach with Housepoint Awards!

Our congratulations go to these wonderful children who appear on the honour roll:

LADY MACBETH

This year has been unprecedented for a number of obvious reasons but one of the less obvious was the number of students who signed up for the KIS production of “The Scottish Play”, our largest ensemble yet!

In the words of Mr Bryant, our English and Drama teacher
” I’m not one to believe in curses (especially those conjured up by Elizabethan Thespians) but after close to 80 hours of rehearsal, we did indeed have to temporarily close the doors on our beloved Macbeth…surely it’s ok to say it now? Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth…or am I further tempting the hand of fate?
All was not lost! Many of the cast and I have been hard at work at recording and editing a series of performance video clips. Over the course of the next few weeks, a series of individual and group videos will be posted that will give you an insight into the raw talent and determination of our Drama students. ”

Enjoy the fruits of their labour!

Mrs Bryant has been working with our littlest children from EYFS to Y1 ; practising this gratitude song (with sign language too!) and producing thank you posters to show their deep appreciation to their amazing Teachers, Mums, Dads, Grandparents and all.
