Happy Holidays Everyone!

It has been a very busy term in Secondary. As well as the normal lessons, there have been quite a number of trips and special events and students have had plenty of opportunities to participate. The Student Council, the Prefects, the House Captains and all of our student leaders have worked tirelessly to support the school, and they must be congratulated for all of their efforts. Thanks also to all of our teaching and non-teaching staff and parents who have gone above and beyond in every way.

During the holidays, when you are relaxing, spare a thought for our senior students in Years 11, 12 and 13 who will be seriously getting into their revision for their IGCSE, AS and A Level examinations. Whilst we have already had some exams [language orals and ICT] there are many more to come during the months of May and June. During the week immediately following the Easter break, the students will be in school following a normal timetable and from the week beginning the 29th April they will be on study leave which means that they will come into school as arranged with their teachers for revision sessions. We wish them all the best in their revision and for their examinations!

A few reminders for Term 3:

  • All Secondary students must have a lock for their locker. This is an ongoing problem and I would kindly ask that all parents ensure that their child is conforming to this school rule.
  • We have a number of students who consistently arrive late to school. Please note that any who arrive late three times will have to serve a detention.
  • The Good Standing Policy states that all students must have a minimum of 90% attendance. Unfortunately we have a number who fall well below this and we will be contacting those parents next term in an effort to work together to support their child so that they can make the most of the learning experience at KIS and achieve their potential.

Have a wonderful holiday!
