From the Head of Primary 17.12.2022
The excitement has been building all week for the end of term!
Early in the week, we had a very special visitor! The children were astounded to find Santa in the halls of the primary block. As they had all been extra good this year they were given a little early treat of a Christmas Cookie from Santa. A huge thank you to the PTA for organising this and of course to Santa for taking time out of his busy schedule to join us.

On Wednesday and Thursday the Primary students and then on Friday the Early Years students made us all very proud by delivering amazing Singalong performances. It was truly wonderful to bring this tradition back after three years without it. Well done to them for their performance. Thank You to Mrs Bryant and Ms Tretter for their dedication and hard work in preparing the students for this. Thank you as well to the staff who helped to bring the whole show together and thank you to the parents who came to support this wonderful event.

As always, the primary students have been super busy learning so many fabulous and wonderful things. Throughout the week, children have made some fabulous Christmas crafts, wrote letters to Santa, created pop up books, made Christmas ornaments, built Snowmen and so much more. Christmas Parties made a comeback as well; on Thursday we ended the year with a class party to celebrate everything we have achieved this term. Also on Thursday we had some more surprise visitors; Year 9 popped into classrooms to perform to the students.
The week ended with a House challenge morning. Students competed in their houses to complete three different challenges. Housepoints were awarded and added to the termly totals which were then announced in our end of term celebration assembly along with Birthdays, Stars of the Week and Bronze and SIlver Awards. In this special assembly, we also celebrated PE awards and we found out who the winners of the Eco Warrior Christmas Decoration and FOBISIA writing competitions were.
A huge well done to Gaya who were this term’s housepoint winners.
I wish you all a safe and happy holiday and I look forward to seeing all the students, well rested and in school on the 9th January.
A Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate…
Ms Karen Hitchen
