FOBISIA Swimming Championships
On Thursday afternoon, 9 Stingrays swimmers set off to represent KIS at the 2019 FOBISIA Swimming Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. This year’s competition is being held at Bangkok Prep school’s brand new Secondary campus in their 50m, high class-equipped swimming pool. There will be around 600 swimmers from 28 international schools and 9 different countries around South East Asia attending the competition. Ms. Beltran and Mr Richie will be accompanying the Stingrays on tour. We want to wish the team all the best of luck for their trip which will certainly be a great challenge and an excellent experience for the KIS Stingrays.
Swimmers: Nicholas, Brandon, Tony, Emmanuel, Bella, Juah, Hope, Amanda and Sophie.
KIS and MSSD Competitions
During the Christmas holidays, KIS finalised our registration to take part in MSSD Kota Kinabalu events for 2019. Joining this organisation is a wonderful step forward for KIS sport as we seek to meet our goal to increase opportunities for students to take part in competitive sports competitions as well as build links with other local schools.
January and February have a number of events already scheduled that we are keen to send teams and individuals to take part in to represent KIS. Please see the table below for details of upcoming competitions.

If you would like your child to be considered for any of the competitions listed above, please see Ms. Sharon Wong in the front office for the competition entry forms. These forms need to be completed and returned to Ms. Sharon Wong together with a copy of your childs’ IC card or passport ID by the specified deadline. Please note we are unable to accept any late entries.
Places for each competition are limited and so should those interested in taking part in an event exceed the numbers allowed, we will have to hold trials to select students. Please be advised that each competition will also involve a cost. However, I am unable to provide details of these at this time.
If you would like any other information about MSSD events, then please contact either myself cwatt@kis.edu.my or Mr. Richie rcelestial@kis.edu.my.
