FOBISIA

On Monday morning we will have 24 very excited Vipers meeting at the airport ready to take on 4 other schools at the FOBISIA Primary Games. Being only 10 and 11, it is hard to comprehend that these might students are going to be leaving their parents behind, travel to another country and compete at an International Sports Tournament against other schools across Asia. This is just one of the many opportunities that KIS offers its students beyond the four walls of the classroom.

These students have shown an admirable attitude towards their preparation over the course of the past few months and I am confident that they are going to do a superb job representing the school and themselves throughout the 3 days of competition. I am looking forward to seeing the students achieve personal best performance, break down barriers and most importantly make many memorable memories that will stay with them for years to come. Keep an eye out for updates of the Vipers in action next week and please wish the following students from Year 5 and Year 6 all the best for a safe and successful FOBISIA Games.

Aydan (Captain), Sam, Calvert, Sean, Hafiz, Dongchan, Lucas, Thomas, Roy, Autumn, Gabriel and Muhammad

Sophia (Captain), Kaye, Maddie, Adel, Clemence, Vivian, Nicole, Hayley, Dahyun, Mia, Kaitlyn and Safa

The students will be accompanied by myself, Mr Denyer, Mrs Clifford and Ms Goldie and I would like to thank them for the many hours they have invested in helping to ensure that the team have the best chance of achieving their goals and also all the efforts that will go into the week away.

KIS Fun Tennis Match – Wednesday 22nd May @ Likas

We have already had some responses to the call for tennis players to join our community fun day of tennis. If you have not already done so but would still like to register your interest, find a playing partner (all matches will be either doubles or mixed doubles) and complete the registration form here – KIS Tennis Fun Match

Get up and Move! – Launching in MAY!

Many more details to follow in next week’s newsletter but we are looking forward to seeing who will get to the finish line first on the Champs Elysees in Paris first.

Students, staff and parents will be able to log the minutes they spend doing any of the 32 sports that will be represented at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Every Minute of movement will count as 1km towards Paris. As in the past there will also be a House competition between Gaya, Sapi and Sulug to see who the biggest ‘movers’ are.

House ECA

Last Wednesday the House ECA returned with students in KS3 taking part in some inter-house basketball matches. Matches were shared equally around in the opening week of matches with a win to each team.

We are still in need of some more players for Gaya and Sulug so if you are interested please come and see Ms Watt or Mr. Denyer. No games this week due to the May Day public holiday.
