KIS Cup

It’s been an exciting few weeks of competition in the KIS Cup with some wonderful team play and intense matches to witness. Over 60 students across years 3-6 have been taking part and it’s been great to see the crowd of other students on the sidelines cheering on for their favourite teams during the matches.

On Tuesday, it was the finals for the Year 3 and 4 competition. It was a great representation of the old saying ‘anything can happen on the day’ as we saw two very closely contested matches. In the 3rd and 4th playoff it was China who had not won a game in the rounds verses France. It was a very exciting game with China the better team on the day putting a lot of pressure on the French defense to take 3rd place with 2 goals to 1 victory.

In the Final for 1st and 2nd, the two most consistent teams did battle with Brazil and Sweden going head to head. Both teams worked very hard and there wasn’t much to separate them. However, it was competition favourites Brazil who snatched victory towards the end of the game, defeating Sweden 2-1.

In the Year 5 and 6 competition, 4 rounds have been played so far and the current standings can be seen below. The 5th and final round will be played next Wednesday 26th when we will see who finishes in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on the league ladder.

FOBISIA  Sports in 2019-2020

Next year we will again be offering opportunities for KIS students to participate in a range of FOBISIA sports events. Attending one of these events not only allows children to challenge themselves on the sporting field and develop both existing and new skills. It also presents students with exciting opportunities to meet and interact with other students from different countries and cultures. They benefit from sharing common experiences, goals and the comradery of competition between schools.

Below you will find a list of competitions that we hope to be able to send teams to with dates. Please note some of these may change slightly depending on the days of travel. Further details and letters of invitation to participate will go out next academic year but if you have any questions about any events or FOBISIA at this time then please get in touch.
