KS3 Sport Education Super 8’s Award Ceremony
On Thursday 23rd March, all of KS3 assembled in the Hall to celebrate the incredible achievements and highlights of their Sport Education unit that they had been taking part in throughout the term in PE.
Sport Education is a curriculum and instruction model designed for delivery within physical education. Students participated as members of teams in a ‘sport season’, which for KS3 this year was an Indoor Cricket season. Students were asked to take an active role in their own sport and physical activity experience by serving in varied and realistic roles that are evident in authentic sport settings such as captains, coaches, trainers, statisticians or publicists.Teams developed camaraderie through the establishment of a team identity with names and logos, and developed strong affiliations with their teams as they worked together to learn and develop their skills and tactical play. The two key concepts of the unit in addition to improving their physical skills for playing Indoor Cricket were “Leadership” & “Collaboration”.
The awards ceremony served as a final celebratory season end event where individuals and teams who had excelled in their roles could be acknowledged. The ceremony was expertly presented and run by a group of volunteers across the 3 year groups. From Year 7 it was Helena, Lung Ip and Chaeeun. Year 8: Qhaira, Henry Ng and Taylor. Year 9: Ada, Jihyo, Keira, Sophie and Sebastien. We were also fortunate to have Dr Gross, Mrs Renshaw and Ms Colley in attendance to assist with presenting some of the awards to the lucky winners.
There was a lot of excitement in the room as nominees for each of the categories were announced and the winners revealed! See below the full list of award nominees and winners!

Congratulations to all students in KS3 on what was a highly successful term of learning in PE across all domains – Cognitive, affective and physical!
Am already excited about seeing this unit come back again in 2023-24 as it offers so many wonderful learning opportunities for students.

Liga SupaRimau News
Whilst we have successfully had enough registrations to enter teams in the Under 8’s, Under 10’s and Under 12’s competitions for Season B, we are still awaiting confirmation from the League organisers in regards to which leagues will be running.
In checking our payment records we have discovered that there are quite a number of outstanding payments for either the team registration fee or the match fees from Season A. Parents will be notified on Monday if we have not received payment and a deadline of Wednesday 19th April will be set to arrange payment or provide proof of payment.
As a result of these points above, the decision has been made to postpone the start of the ECA training sessions for one week. So the following sessions during the ECA programme will not take place this coming week.
Tuesday 2-3pm = Under 12’s Liga SupaRimau training
Wednesday 2-3pm = Under 10’s Liga SupaRimau training
