Eco-School Green Flag Journey
What a busy month for the Eco warriors in the school! The children in both Primary and Secondary have spent their lunch times and after school clubs conducting an environmental review of the whole school.
They had been sent a set of guidelines by the Eco School Malaysia in which to follow, and the children had to quickly learn how to identify areas for development, prioritise issues in terms of environmental impact, ease to recitfy and cost.
A small group of nominated children, who make up the Eco committee, then met with members of the school community to present the findings and discuss ways forward. The children set the agenda for this meeting, chaired and minuted it and lead the discussion. Mrs Davies, Mrs Holmes and Mrs White were very proud of the way the children conducted themselves.
As a committee we have chosen 3 areas area for action:
Litter
Water
Energy saving
The children will now take these back to the primary and secondary groups and develop an action plan which will then be feedback to the wider school community.
Thank you to the adults involved for allowing the children to have a voice, develop as leaders and make a difference.
