From the Head of Primary 10.09.2022
It has been a wonderful week in Primary. I have been able to spend some time in each class throughout the week and I really got a sense that all students have settled into their learning and are working super hard. We are only on week four and we still have five weeks left of the half term and lots to look forward to. Next week, the year 6 students will embark on their first trip of the year to Zip Borneo, you can hear more about that in next week’s newsletter.
Another Friday and another celebration assembly! Over the last few weeks we have been discussing our primary behaviour agreement policy and what each of the statements actually mean.

The students had great ideas about what they could do to demonstrate that they are caring, respectful, achieving their full potential and being a global citizen. You may have noticed your child coming home with stickers that represent each of these behaviours. Please talk to them about what they did to achieve their sticker so that we are working together to ensure our children are embodying our school mission statement.
As usual we celebrated the Stars of the Week, who went above and beyond to receive their certificates.
We announced the much anticipated results of the Year 2 House Captains.

A big well done to the Year 2 children who gave speeches last week. They were all very brave and super examples of what it means to be a leader!
We also announced our Student Council leaders for this year.

The Student Council members were nominated by their classmates. Being a part of the council is a great way for students to take on a leadership role, promote the voice of the student body, problem solve and impact their community. A council serves as the voice for an entire student body and actively works with teachers to promote a better learning environment. I look forward to seeing what the student council achieves this year and a huge thank you to Mrs Clifford who will be taking over as the Student Council leader.
Finally, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new students and their families who joined us this week:
Yoshi and Hannah in R/F1
Aisya in F2
Enacio in Y1
Aidan, Tommy and Luke in Y3
Isaac in Y4
Jason in Y5
Jonah in Y6
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Take care.
Ms Karen Hitchen
