SECONDARY HOUSE NEWS

On Tuesday, the House Presidents and House Ambassadors had a quick opportunity to meet with Mr Watson, the House Coordinator for Secondary and were handed their badges. The House Presidents delivered their short speeches and they were later briefed on their respective roles, upcoming house events and the Secondary House website.
We are pleased to present to you your 2022-23 House Presidents and their Opening Speeches! ( Scroll below for video)

PRIMARY HOUSE NEWS

After hearing the Year 6 House Captains speak of the qualities they could offer to the role of House Captain, Primary got down to the serious task of voting for their chosen Captain. It was a really tight race as every one of our candidates offered something special and amazing to this position. However, 2 Captains were selected for each House and they were revealed in assembly this week!

Our new 2022-2023 House Captains for each House are:

I can’t wait to get started working with them on their roles this year! Stay tuned as you will be seeing a lot more from these students throughout the Year!!

YEAR 2 HOUSE CAPTAINS CANDIDATE

Our young Year 2 students were inspired by the example set by the Year 6 House Captain candidates and as a result a few brave Year 2 students took the assembly stage this week and spoke to the Primary students about what they felt they could offer to the role as Year 2 House Captain.

Our Year 2 House Captain Candidates are:

SAPI: Maya

SULUG: Eden and Junu

Next week we will reveal the Year 2 captains who have volunteered to stand for the position as well as those nominated by their teachers as students who show the qualities we seek for the role of House Captain.

Good luck to all our amazing Year 2 students!

HOUSEPOINT TOTAL

Even after a short week due to our mid-week Public Holiday, Primary students have shone bright like the stars they are as they collectively earned over 500 housepoints! What an amazing start we are having to this school year and I can’t wait to see the dizzy heights we will reach in housepoint totals in the weeks to come!

Our Weekly Class Housepoint Winners this week are Year 4 who earned an average of 7 housepoints per pupil. Well done Year 4! Keep it up!

As usual, the race between the Houses to find the Weekly Champion was super tight with only 1 point separating each of the places!

The housepoints awarded to each team was:

In 3rd place with 173 housepoints is Sulug!

In 2nd place with 174 housepoints is Sapi!

In 1st place with 175 housepoints is Gaya!

Our congratulations go to Gaya Pangolins for their second win of this school year! Are they storming to an unstoppable lead already? Only time will tell and I can’t wait to find out who we will be celebrating as Housepoint Champions next week!

GO GAYA PANGOLINS! GO SAPI SUNBEARS! GO SULUG SHARKS!!

DOJO CHALLENGE THIS WEEK!

It was wonderful to see all the photos and video clips of the fitness fun Primary had spelling out their names through various exercises last week! It was even more impressive to see the lengths of names (first names and surnames included!) spelled out through a range of fun moves! I really enjoyed seeing some individuals create their own exercises and spell out their names with a brand new set of fitness ideas!

Sulug Sharks were the winning House for the Dojo Challenges set last week. Congratulations to everyone who took part.

Now it’s time to find out what challenges you can involve yourself in this week.

The Monthly Maths Challenge is back with our first challenge of this school year. Make sure you check out the Drive folder to find a September Maths Challenge suitable for your year group. There are challenges for F1&F2, Y1&Y2, Y3&Y4 and Y5&Y6. Good luck everyone and get those maths brains crunching!

Our Fun Challenge this week celebrates Malaysia Pride as we reflect on all the things that we love about this beautiful country we are lucky to live in. As we saw celebrations for Merdeka Day earlier in the week, this challenge invites you to show something you are proud of about Malaysia. You could create a famous landmark through some art work, use Lego and building blocks to create the national animal or even bake the Rafflesia flower in cookies! Let your imagination run wild and enjoy showing off your Malaysian Pride!
