From the Principal 19.03.2022

Dear KIS Community,

Looking back at the past week we have had a few notable days. The week started with Pi Day, students celebrating maths across primary and secondary. Wednesday was a highlight for many people lucky enough to see a curious visitor to the school in the morning. You can read and see more about our guest in the secondary section. On Friday, students raised money to support those affected by war, through a bake sale, and my thanks to everyone who made this possible, including our student (and staff) musicians. Thank you to our community for your generosity to help others. Congratulations and well done to Year 3 who were on stage presenting their assembly to parents. Thank you also to all the parents who were able to come and for our wonderful Year 3 team for making it happen.

Friday was also the two-year anniversary of the first lockdown (MCO) in Malaysia. We have come a long way in the past two years and I am so proud of our students, staff and community. Whilst not over yet, our journey through the past two years has been unique in our lifetimes. Whilst keeping us apart it has also brought us closer together. As a school community we have worked hard to ensure we support each other, from a distance. Our wider community is beginning to return to more normal times and with that we look forward to our KIS community being able to reconnect. Thank you for your support and patience as we all move forward, it has been wonderful seeing nearly all the children back at school this week.

Looking to the future, well the next couple of weeks, the FOBISIA challenge has begun, check the PE section and we will be celebrating Book Week again. Many activities to get involved with to help your children enjoy reading. The week (and term) will finish with another favourite KIS activity that returns, the PTA ice cream!
