From the Principal 04.12.2021
Dear KIS Community,
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the AGM last weekend. I am delighted to announce that our new Chair of the Board of Governors is Shirley Yu. My thanks to Nick Pilcher who will be taking on the role of Vice Chair this year. Full details of the Board were sent to all Parents earlier in the week and our website will be updated shortly to reflect these changes. On behalf of our KIS community, my thanks to our outgoing Board members, and welcome to our new members.
A huge and hairy thank you to everyone who has been involved with Movember this year. Mr Fletcher launched this annual event and has kept us all on track over the past month, culminating in a dress down Friday. We saw a wonderful array of facial hair designs coming into school and saw them in the assemblies across Primary and Secondary. This is all to raise the very important issue of men’s health awareness. Well done to Angelina and Wilbur, from our Sixth Form, for a very insightful assembly in Secondary and again to Mr Fletcher in Primary.
The students from our Sixth Form (A level) have been taking the lead more and more across the school and this is a deliberate move to ensure our older students have leadership opportunities and help prepare them for a life at university. Earlier this week Ms Colbeck hosted an options evening for Year 11 to help them understand what the next steps are in their education as they move into A levels next year. If you have any questions about our pre-university programme please get in touch with Ms Colbeck (francescolbeck@kis.edu.my).
For your children’s uniform needs, our school shop is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week from 7.30am to 8.30am. You can also order online and collect from school.
Have a lovely weekend,
Ian Gross
Principal
