Saturday 30th October

Dear KIS Community,

Welcome back to the second half of this term, I trust you all had a relaxing break for half term. More of our older students are back in school and I am happy to report that over 90% of our secondary students aged over 12 have been able to get vaccinated. I would also like to reassure you that all adults working in school are fully vaccinated.

It is the time of year that we start making preparations for the KIS Annual General Meeting (AGM) which takes place on 27th November (online). A letter was sent from Dr Pilcher (Chair of the Board) to all parents and guardians yesterday explaining the purpose of the Board and the AGM. Each year we do ask for parent volunteers to join the Board of Governors. Please check your emails for more information.

If you can find the time on November 1st, the annual UBUNTU exhibition will be taking place again. This is the 4th Exhibition and will be online with numerous artists supporting the awareness of global warming. Spearheaded by Grace (Year 10), many of those involved are students and the event has become one of the highlights of our year. Further information can be found in this newsletter.

In staffing news, we have received news that Megan Siddall (Year 1) should hopefully be able to join us soon. We also have joining us a new secondary chemistry and science teacher, Mr Antony Williams who will be online to begin with and joining us physically in the new year, you can read a little more about him in this newsletter.

Please remember that next week is a holiday on Thursday and we wish you all a very happy Deepavali. Please do check out the PTA section of the newsletter to see how you can get involved.

Have a lovely weekend,

Ian Gross
Principal
