HOUSE NEWS 02.10.2021

Another week has passed but it doesn’t finish without us taking the opportunity to congratulate yet another group of our Primary students as they earn their first Housepoint Award this year. I am always really proud to see the excitement and joy on the faces of these students earning their award and would like to take this chance to congratulate them for their hard work to earn this award.
I am certain that it won’t be long until we are celebrating more names and presenting more of our individual housepoint awards to the Primary students of KIS!

Housepoint Totals
It was another high scoring week for the housepoints earned across Primary as we saw a grand total of 944 housepoints earned. Well done everyone!
It wasn’t the closest battle we’ve seen this year but it was still close enough to keep everyone on the edge of their seats as we revealed the total points for each team! 14 housepoints separated the first and last place Houses with the winners clinching victory through an 8 point lead! Keep up the fabulous work KIS and keep the weekly battle close and exciting!
The housepoints awarded to each team was:
In 3rd place, with 308 housepoints is Gaya!
In 2nd place with 314 housepoints is Sulug!
In 1st place with 322 housepoints is Sapi!
Our congratulations go to Sapi SUnbears for their third win this year!! Who will we be celebrating as Housepoint Champions next week?
GO GAYA PANGOLINS! GO SAPI SUNBEARS!! GO SULUG SHARKS!!!
DOJO CHALLENGES
We had joint winners for our Dojo challenge this week as both Sapi Sunbears and Sulug Sharks shared victory, beating the Gaya Pangolins by one entry! Malaysia Pride was shown strongly in all the completed challenges and I saw some amazing recreations of the flag, the KL twin towers, Rafflesia flowers and much more! What made the challenge submissions even more wonderful was how they were completed using a wide variety of materials and showed just how creative and imaginative our KIS Primary students are!
Well done everyone who took part in any challenge last week. I can’t wait to see what KIS do with the challenges this week!
The Monthly Maths Challenge is back again for October and there are challenges for everyone! You can choose to complete the F1&F2, Year 1&2, Year 3&4 or Year 5&6 challenges! Good luck everyone taking on the maths challenge! All entries are due by Friday 29th October.
There are two celebrations we are honouring with our Fun Challenge this week. Firstly, October 1st is recognised as World Vegetarian Day and in some places Homemade Cookie Day is also celebrated! We invite you to make and share a healthy vegetarian snack or some delicious homemade cookies! We cannot wait to see all the mouthwatering snacks and cookies you enjoy for this challenge!
Please share photos of your completed challenges through this Google Form link:

If you missed the challenges when they were shared on Dojo on Friday, please check out School Story on Dojo to find the link to the Weekly Dojo Challenge folder.
Don’t forget, you can also scan or click on the QR code that matches your House colour to see a brilliant video made by the Y6 House Captains to explain the Fun Dojo Challenge. This week, videos were created by Janesse for Gaya, Janice for Sapi and Eshaana for Sulug! Great job everyone!
You can also use this link https://cutt.ly/LfcFEyn to access the folder and find the details for all the challenges shared this week. If you have any questions, please do get in touch via email; sbarlass@kis.edu.my or through Class Dojo messages.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible participating with these weekly challenges, but please do remember that all challenges are optional. All entries for all challenges will be awarded with housepoints towards their House Team total, because “Team work makes the dream work!”
Happy challenging KIS!
