Dear KIS Community,

A huge thank you to Gwen Abbott (Chair of the PTASC) for hosting the PTA AGM last week. We had a great turn out of staff and parents, thank you to everyone who was able to join the online AGM on the Saturday morning and make the meeting possible. Our sincere gratitude to the outgoing steering committee members for managing so well during such trying times for arranging events. A number of parents have come forward to join the new steering committee and if you are interested please do contact the PTA at pta@kis.edu.my, they will be happy for your support.

Congratulations to our students in Years 11, 12 & 13. They have completed their IGCSE and A Level exams. They must all be commended for working so hard and diligently in very challenging circumstances and we are delighted they have been able to complete their exams. Now is the time for them to put the exams out of their minds until August when the results come out. Well done to you all.

Further congratulations must be given to all of us. I am delighted to be able to confirm that we have received full accreditation from CIS. All standards were met with a number of areas being raised to exceeding. I wish to thank everyone involved, the Domain Chairs, the Domain teams, staff, parents, students across the school. The visiting team were very impressed and highly praised the school and our community.

The report of the visit and outcomes will be made available in the ‘Useful Documents’ part of our website for you all to access within the next week. The highlights include 28 recommendations which will feed into our development planning and a wonderful 68 commendations that cover all areas and aspects of school, involving students, staff and parents.

CIS accreditation is a continual process and whilst we can celebrate a well-earned reaccreditation, our journey carries on and we look to the future and how we will continue to improve, and develop ourselves as we move forward, nurturing global citizens.

Finally, on behalf of the School I wish to thank Mr Matthew Loh for all the work he has done as a valued member of the school’s Board of Governors. Matthew has asked to step down from the Board due to his own work requirements and we wish him all the very best. I am also able to warmly welcome and introduce Mrs Balvinder Kaur who has been co-opted to join the Board and will be present at the next meeting of the Board this coming week.

I wish you all a safe and relaxing weekend,

Ian Gross
