Dear KIS Community,

Not much to say this week apart from thank you. To all the students, parents and staff for your hard work in preparing for this visit next week. The meetings start tomorrow and continue throughout the week. Lesson observations will be taking place each day along with learning walks around the school.

The purpose or point to all this? Improvement. We continually strive to reflect on what we do and how we can make it better. Better for students, staff and parents. Having the visiting CIS team come in to our school is great. Six pairs of fresh eyes and ears will be looking at what we do and asking why we do it. They will be able to confirm what we are doing well as well as agree on the areas we know we can improve. They will also have their own observations that will support our development as we move forward into our next chapter.

Whilst we are positive about the outcomes, regardless of what they are, the outcomes of this visit will help us to progress and advance from where we are today. This is the purpose of accreditation. To validate what we do and drive us on to continually reflect and develop.

So again, thank you for your involvement, especially if you are in the meetings or lessons or around school next week.

Work is underway for this year’s edition of the KIS Yearbook. It has not been a usual year and we hope to reflect this with a slightly different Yearbook. We have asked students to submit photos and a brief story of their positive memories from this school year. Photo’s and words need to be uploaded and students should have an email with all the details. Please help us to collect these memories and celebrate a different kind of school year.

Next week is also the last week before the April holiday, it has come around so very quickly. Friday 26th March is the last day of term. Primary students will finish at 12.00pm and Secondary students will finish at 12.20pm (KS3 slightly earlier). School resumes after the holiday on Monday 12th April.

Finally, on behalf of the KIS community I am delighted to welcome our newest member, a beautiful baby boy was delivered a couple of days ago by Ms Jez. Baby and Mummy are doing well and we wish them all the very best.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Ian Gross
