From the Head of Primary 12.09.2020
This week I had the pleasure of joining our Class Ambassadors for their first meeting of the year. Among lots of other things, they talked about channels of clear communication between home and school which is so important to the smooth running of any school. In this age of technology we have so many different channels open to us. Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Line, Twitter, email and SMS to name but a few. I am sure that there are many other platforms that I’ve never even heard of but we all agreed that you can’t beat a face to face conversation and in these difficult times when face to face chats aren’t always possible a video chat or phone call is second best. Of course we have to rely on social media platforms to convey messages or announcements on a large scale but it’s important to remember the power of the personal touch.
Another Friday and another celebration assembly. As usual we celebrated birthdays and our Stars of the Week who went above and beyond to receive their certificates. We announced the much anticipated results of the Year 2 House Captains as voted for by all children in Primary. The successful candidates were:
A big well done to all of the Year 2 children who gave speeches last week. You all did a great job but unfortunately we can only choose two children to represent each house.
Once again the Student Leadership focus continued this week with not only the Year 2 House Captains being announced but also the Student Council.
Congratulations to the following students:
Next week we are looking forward to finding out who our Library Cadets are and there will be information about how to apply to be a member of the Charity Committee.
Wishing you all wonderful weekend.
