Dear KIS Community,

I am proud to be able to congratulate Kaori Weightman (Y13) on her fantastic achievement for being awarded the Gold Award in the Duke of Edinburgh Award. I believe this is a first for KIS and really is to be commended. Thank you and well done to the DofE staff team for enabling Kaori to achieve this. Further news about Kaori and other recent Silver and Bronze awards will be coming soon.

Thank you to all the parents and teachers who joined our first virtual PTA AGM, we had excellent attendance, well done Liz, and I would like to thank the outgoing PTASC for all their hard work, time and energy they had brought to our community. I now look forward to meeting and working with the new PTASC for 20/21.

Yesterday I sent a letter explaining that we will be updating our Post MCO Safety Policy to take account of the guidelines issued by the MoE, we will let you know when this has been completed and you will be able to access through the school’s website. With the letter yesterday was a link to a parent survey to get feedback and support improvements to our remote learning. Please do take the time to complete as it will help us to understand you and your children’s needs. Surveys have been sent to all staff, students and parents.

As mentioned previously, we have collated a number of offers and businesses to promote within our KIS community. You can find these in the community section and if you would like to add to these please contact Ms Lisa (KIS Marketing) at lambrose@kis.edu.my.

Finally, we have been promoting the safety of the Malayan Tigers through our EcoWarriors. You too can support by signing a digital petition. Further details can be found at www.wwf.org.my/tigerpledge and www.wwf.org.my/tiger_pledge/tiger_pledge_for_children.

I wish you all a lovely long weekend and look forward to seeing you all back online on Tuesday 9th June. Happy Birthday to his Majesty Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVI.
