Dear KIS Community,

I hope you have all had a good week and enjoyed Wesak Day on Thursday. Changes to the MCO continue to give us more positive changes as we look towards the future and continue our plans.

Earlier in the week we published our policy for when we are able to return to school and this is also now on the KIS website (https://www.kis.edu.my/postmcosafety/) with translations in BM, Chinese and Korean (my thanks to our staff and parents who helped with the translations). As and when changes are made a new version number will be published with changes highlighted.

It is important that all members of our community understand the policy and what is required and to support this we will be running virtual coffee mornings in the week before the half term to give parents an opportunity to ask questions if they have any. We will be having virtual coffee mornings through zoom, and a letter will be sent to all parents on Monday explaining how the meetings will be run and how you can join in.

The PTA AGM is scheduled for 4th June, due to social restrictions we will be holding a virtual AGM meeting to allow all parents and teachers to be able to attend. Further details have been sent from the PTA and you can also read the PTA section in this week’s newsletter.

KPJ Hospital are running a series of health webinars and have invited our community to join a webinar on the HPV Vaccine. The webinar will take place on Wednesday 20th May at 3pm to 3.45pm for interested members of the KIS community. If you would like to take part please contact Danny Dohny at danny@kpjsabah.com or contact him by phone, 088-322007. This is a free webinar arranged by KPJ.

I look forward to remaining restrictions of the MCO coming to an end as soon as possible. We will keep you up to date and informed if there is any news or change to the current situation regarding school. Do check your emails on a regular basis. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy. If you do have any concerns that we can help with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, the office staff and myself, can be reached through our usual emails. Ms Siti, our counsellor, is also available at any time for all members of our community (snaim@kis.edu.my).

I wish you all a restful weekend,
