From the PTASC 12.10.2019

The PTASC would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make international day such an incredibly successful occasion.

It is one of the most highly anticipated and largest events in the school calendar and as such is also the major fundraising event of the year.

It provides a wonderful opportunity for the whole community to dress up in the national costume of their country of origin and to be proud to represent their nation.

Thank you to all the nations that participated with a stall in the main hall which this year offered a very welcome blast of cool air from the newly installed air con units! The effort put in to create the stalls was amazing so thank you to all of the stall leaders and assistants for your creativity.  As for the vast selection of delicious food; truly glorious.

Huge congratulations must go to team ASEAN for winning first place in the best dressed stall competition and thank you to the judges who had a very difficult job!

A big thank you to all who sponsored the event in various ways, both local businesses and also parents.  Your sponsorship is greatly appreciated.

Yet another ‘Thank you’ to everyone who donated items for the magnificent hampers which were auctioned off in a silent bid.  There are still a couple of hampers to be collected from the office upon payment.

Congratulations to Mr Watson who won the folding bike in the lucky draw!

Deepavali

As mentioned last week, Deepavali is nearly upon us and will be celebrated after the half term holiday.

This year the PTASC and Eco-warriors are teaming up to decorate the school with 500 unwanted upcycled CD’s into ‘Diyas’.

We would like to encourage each and everyone of you to participate in this event.

For information on how to decorate your CD to look like a Diya, please follow the link for more ideas.

We hope to collect your contribution before Friday 18th October to start assembling the disks.

If your child wishes to decorate your disk during the half term holiday, could you please return it to school no later than Tuesday 29th October.

The school will be decorated on the 30th October.  If there are any parents who are available to help out on that day, please contact any PTASC member.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.
