From the Head of Primary 24.08.19
It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Head of Primary and to welcome you to what I am sure will be a very busy and exciting year ahead. There is no doubt that KIS is a very special place and I am honoured to be serving the school. I have the highest expectations of myself, the staff and children and it is my intention that by working together we can make our school the best it can possibly be.
As always, the first couple of days of the new school year have been incredibly busy and it has been wonderful to see the children welcome each other back after the holidays. I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all of our new children who have settled into school so well.
This year in Primary we will continue to communicate with parents via Class Dojo. You will have received an invite from your class teacher to join. We encourage you to accept this invitation by following the instructions that have been sent home with your child. You will be able to view your child’s learning journey and have access to important curriculum information. Every Friday, you will receive a Dojo update from your year group teachers who will share a reflection of all the amazing learning that has taken place throughout the week. They will also share a brief overview of the learning that will take place the following week. House points will be awarded to children whose parents sign up before Monday 26th August!
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made me feel so welcome. Your well-wishes and positive comments have been greatly appreciated and I look forward to getting to know you all over the coming months. Please remember that my door is always open and I welcome your comments and feedback.
