Word of the Week 19.06.2021

In the weird and wonderful words of Dr Seuss: ‘The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more you will learn, the more places you’ll go!

There were a myriad of ambitious and unusual words submitted this week, which truly impressed the English Department and your form tutors. I am sure you are all wondering (as Dr Seuss did) ‘And will you succeed? Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed!’ All the entries for word of the week were fantastic, but ultimately there can only be one winner. This week’s word whizz is Grace Lee from 9S with her wordebullience’ which is the quality of being cheerful and full of energy. I cannot think of a more fitting word for all of our wonderful students at KIS.

Congratulations to Grace for earning five points for her house, and a massive well done to all students who entered words this week and have earned house points for their fantastic efforts. ‘You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose!’
