WELLBEING NEWS 07.05.2022
Welcome to the Wellbeing newsletter. As mentioned in the previous newsletter, I will share tips on “How to kickstart a conversation surrounding our own mental health”. The first step that we all can do is to reflect on our own attitude towards talking about our struggles and hardships. When was the last time we talked about it with our friends, best-mates or members of our family? Was it difficult to start? What were your thoughts before you reached out? Whether you just needed a space to vent or just a little advice from someone, sometimes it is difficult to start.
Here are common thoughts before one starts sharing:
- “Everyone else is going through something, I am not special”
- “It is too complicated, I don’t even know where to start”
- “They are too busy, I don’t want to bother them”
- “This matter is too small”
- “They will get bored listening about this issue again”
These patterns of thoughts can become a dangerous cycle and isolate us from the support we may need. Here are several examples of conversation starters. It is easier to be honest in regards to your feeling talking about the subject, at the start of the conversation.

We are all constantly learning and I hope these conversation starters are helpful and could guide us in our wellbeing journey. In the next newsletter, I wish to share tips on how we can start a conversation with someone we care to support them in their personal struggles. Till then ~ have a pleasant week.
