Dear KIS Community,

As you will be aware the CMCO continues for us until the 9th November and as such, online learning will continue until we have further news that we can communicate to you. Thank you to everyone who was able to respond to our online surveys. This second round of online learning has been very well received and we are pleased to hear your positive experiences. We know online learning does not suit everyone and we are happy to help where we can, please do keep in touch with us.

Many thanks to all the staff, students and parents who got involved with Think Pink over the last week and for also making the tremendous effort to ensure Friday was a scary school day. The pictures show a great deal of enthusiasm and energy, well done everyone.

The UBUNTU 3rd Global Warming Project (virtual and online) is starting this weekend and it would be great to have support from our community. You can find more information here and you can also check out their Instagram account (@play.withdream). They are being joined by a host of national and international artists such as: calligraphy artist Cho Gi Chong, guitarist Chong Tze Ken, educator James Bevan, artist Jeong Yeon Du, actor John Yoon, artist Nau Eun Hee, poet Shiva Ryu, artist Song Il Geun, architect Sora Kwon, and sound designer Prof. Sun Hee Kil. In the words of the Artistic Director, Lee Vidan, “We pray that our little seeds will bloom everywhere with love and peace”.

Please see below for a message from David Powell, Chair of the Board of Governors for this year’s AGM. I wish you all a lovely weekend.

A Message from our Chair of the Board of Governors

The KIS AGM will be held virtually via Zoom on Saturday 28th November 2020 at 0930 hrs.    We will need 105 parents to join the Zoom call at 0930hrs on that morning in order to achieve Quorum so PLEASE do block a little time on the 28th November to join this important meeting.   The official Notice of the AGM and invitation to register will be sent out shortly.

Three of the existing Board members – Seon Young Park, Martin Forsyth and Matthew Lo will be continuing into the 2nd year of their term. An additional four of the existing hard working Board members – Gina Pang, Shirley Yu, Angus Wong and Hans Dols, who have completed their term of office have kindly agreed to stand again. The School Constitution states than no more than half the Board Members can be of the same nationality and two Non Malaysian Board members, Toto Setiawan and David Powell will not be re-standing. We welcome anyone who feels they are able to contribute to the school through joining the Board to stand for election but given the constitutional requirements we especially encourage nominations from non-Malaysians to fill at least these two vacancies on the Board.
