From the Principal 21.11.2020
Saturday 21st November
Dear KIS Community,
The PTASC International Recipe Book is available for pre-order through the school online shop, a definite stocking filler for friends and families and can even be delivered overseas; shameless advertising on my part, but totally worth it.
Thank you to everyone who sent in their feedback / comments about Wellbeing Wednesday, it certainly had the right impact for so many members of our community and I hope you were able to take advantage of the many, and varied activities arranged by our students, thank you.
Next week is another opportunity to get involved, with a bigger picture in mind, Global Goals and International week start on Monday 23rd and run throughout the week with various activities and events to support our vision of nurturing global citizens. Please check your emails and Dojo for further information from students, staff and the PTASC. See the PTA section of this newsletter for details of the annual hamper auction, some wonderful hampers and also some surprise extras that are well worth a look.
During the week next week, parents of exam students from last year have been invited to collect the exam certificates for the IGCSE and A levels from June 2020. Please check your emails for further details or contact Ms Thecla (thecla@kis.edu.my).
Looking further ahead and towards the Christmas holiday, the Student Council in the Secondary School have been connecting with the Sabah Cheshire Home for the annual Christmas Angels. A letter has been sent from school by email detailing how we can get involved and support this wonderful cause whilst maintaining physical distance.
To help keep us connected during this period of home learning, the Heads of School will be making themselves available for conference meetings with parents and you can read more about this on their pages. I am also available to meet by conference call and you can simply email me for a time that suits you during the school day. We are more than happy to connect with you and support you during these difficult times.
Finally, please remember the KIS AGM is taking place in just one week’s time on Saturday 28th. Check your emails for further information and to sign up to the Zoom AGM meeting.
I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Ian Gross
