From the Principal 07.11.2020
Dear KIS Community,
A huge thank you to staff, students and parents as we complete another week of online learning. I am also very pleased that we have been able to welcome our new staff members this year to Kota Kinabalu and look forward to meeting them in person as soon as possible.
This month we are raising awareness of Men’s health issues through the worldwide annual Movember campaign. Many staff have been clean shaven from the start of the month and will be attempting to grow moustaches, female staff are able to join in by sporting ‘false’ moustaches of their choice and if students / parents would like to get involved, please contact Mr Fletcher in Primary and Ms Bater in Secondary.
Earlier this week I had the delightful pleasure of being interviewed by Primary students for the student newspaper, KIS Today, I hear that many students are busying themselves in preparation for the next edition and I look forward to its publication. Another great student achievement this week is the magical talents of Leroy in Year 7. He has produced a wonderful video and you can see for yourselves his magical prowess on our KIS Facebook page.
Please do check out the PTA section of this newsletter to hear their exciting news for the KIS community and International Day, which this year will take the form of an online international week.
Of course we are all still awaiting news of the current CMCO and what will happen following Monday. Please assume until announced from the school that for the next week we will continue with online learning.
