From the Principal 03.10.2020
Saturday 3rd October
Dear KIS Community,
I trust you are all well and I assume today we will be able to see where the roadblocks are that may or may not be in your areas. As mentioned in my letter yesterday, school will continue as usual. If you are unable to come to school due to roadblocks please inform us and we can either provide work for remote study or we can support travel by issuing a KIS student letter. Please note that this will not guarantee travel but may help.
A huge congratulations to all of our students who took part in the FOBISIA online science competition. Over 40 FOBISIA schools took part, some with over 2000 students, and KIS students came first. Well done and thank you to all the students and the science department for supporting.
Thank you to Mrs Renshaw and Mr Hallas for arranging and supporting the Year 13 University and Careers days this past week, it was wonderful to hear the variety of courses our students are aiming for the and the locations they wish to travel. We have an excellent cohort and I look forward to their graduation and further success later in the year.
Finally, last year we hosted the 2nd UBUNTU Exhibition at school. This was a very successful event and helped raise awareness for environmental issues. A third exhibition is planned for this year through online collaboration. We are delighted to be a part of this again and further news will be forthcoming.
I wish our Year 11 students the best of luck next week for their exams and I wish you all a lovely weekend,
Ian Gross
Principal
