This weekend many of the KIS team will be busy at the Property Hunter Expo 2024, hosted at the SICC. We very much look forward to seeing as many of you as possible stop by the booth to say hello and help spread the word about what makes KIS so special.

Naturally, the question may be asked “why is a school at a property and real estate expo?”. A fair and valid question.

There are a few reasons why, not least of which is to simply be a part of the wider community and access a platform to promote our school.

However there is an interesting connection to consider.

Investing in property and investing in a child’s education may seem worlds apart at first glance, but upon closer inspection, the parallels between the two reveal a surprising symmetry. While one involves bricks and mortar, the other concerns the nurturing of global citizens and shaping young minds. Yet, both endeavors share a common thread – they are investments in the future that require careful planning, nurturing, and patience.

Much like investing in property, investing in education requires an upfront commitment; financial, emotional, and time. Just as one meticulously selects a property based on location, amenities, and potential for appreciation, parents deliberate over school choice, weighing factors such as curriculum, extracurricular activities, wellbeing support, and reputation. The wrong property purchased in the wrong area or at the wrong time may prove disastrous. Similarly choosing the wrong school that does not fit the needs and aspirations of a child, may result in a less-than-ideal outcome.

We are excited to use our presence at the expo to demonstrate the KIS point of difference when it comes to teaching and learning through the engaging and hands-on ‘home innovation challenge’. Participants will be given a short time to create an innovative product to be used in the home. The catch – they may only use the limited materials we provide, largely consisting of toilet rolls, pipe-cleaners and paper. This challenge requires individuals to problem solve, to think laterally and view the world from a different perspective. These approaches to life and learning are vital for young people to develop the skills, values and attitudes to not only succeed academically but also be positioned to make a difference in the ever evolving world.

Both property ownership and education offer intangible benefits that extend beyond monetary returns. The right house may be called a home thanks to the years of accumulated shared memories, the comfort of familiarity, and the sense of security. A quality education instills the right values and attitudes, fosters personal growth, shapes character and nurtures global citizens ready to positively impact the world of tomorrow. Both investments may enrich lives and their impact endure across generations.

The greatest returns on investment are not always measured in dollars and cents, however ensuring the right investment is made is an important starting point.

We look forward to seeing you at Property Hunter Expo 2024 and encourage you to bring friends and family along so they can see firsthand the KIS point of difference.
