From the Head of Secondary 29.06.2024
We have had a fantastic conclusion to the school year!
In the Secondary Assembly on Tuesday afternoon many students were the recipients of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. Well done to them for working so hard throughout the year. We also had the highest ever number of students who achieved Principal Awards: Oswald Wang, Sabrina Maichel, Boey Wong, George Chee, Janesse Lau, Fion Ho, Ada Pian, and Timmy Zhang. Ms Watt spoke about the tremendous sporting success that KIS students have achieved this year, and Ms McPherson walked us through all of the positive initiatives that have emanated from the Eco Warriors this year.
Also this week we have enjoyed Science Week, an absolutely fabulous event, and congratulation to everyone involved, especially Mr Colbeck, Head of Science, the driving force behind it. The activities were designed to be fun and they certainly achieved that. I don’t think I have ever seen so many happy smiling faces as the students worked in teams to compete against each other showing lots of friendly sportsmanship along the way.
PROM2024 was a truly amazing event. This happened last Friday evening at Le Meridien. The ladies and gentleman enjoyed musical interludes, special [funny awards], a very few speeches, lovely food and drink, and fabulous dancing, which rounded off the night. Many congratulations to the Prom Committee, mentored by Mr Bromley. You did very well guys!
As I write this on Thursday afternoon we are all looking forward to our end of year Celebration and Awards morning at Yayasan Sabah Auditorium.
Just to mention that this is my last ever copy for the newsletter; after 15 wonderful years I am moving on. KIS is a wonderful school and it has been my pleasure to have served here.
Good luck for everything moving forward!
Signing off….
Mrs Margaret Renshaw
Deputy Principal / Head of Secondary
