From the Head of Primary 11.05.2024
As we draw the curtains on another enriching week, it fills me with great joy to share with you the myriad of learning opportunities our students have embraced. From captivating classroom endeavors to insightful parent engagements, the KIS community continues to thrive.

This week, we witnessed an array of captivating events and discussions, each contributing to the holistic development of our students. Our Head of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1, Anna Gibbons, orchestrated a splendid coffee morning where parents delved into the intricacies of the early years journey, morning routines, and the upcoming transition to Key Stage 1. It was heartening to witness such active participation and camaraderie during the morning song.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the week was the triumphant return of our Year 5 and 6 students from the FOBISIA Games. These friendly sporting competitions not only foster a sense of healthy competition but also play a pivotal role in shaping the character of our students. Beyond the medals and accolades, such events instill values of respect, kindness, and unwavering effort. We were immensely proud to hear commendations from other schools on how impeccably our students represented KIS and themselves, embodying the ethos of sportsmanship with grace and integrity.
In line with our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals, we also emphasize the importance of healthy eating habits. We encourage parents to pack nutritious meals for their children, limiting the intake of sugar and caffeine. By fostering a culture of healthy choices, we aim to instill lifelong habits that promote physical and mental well-being.
Alongside this we have continued our initiative of circle times every Friday which has been a big success in helping the children express themselves and reflect on situations throughout the week. We look forward to growing this in the coming weeks and into next academic year.

Looking ahead, our excitement mounts as we gear up for the EYFS sports morning on Monday—a jubilant celebration of youthful energy and camaraderie. Additionally, we eagerly anticipate waving off our Year 6 students on their residential trip to Outward Bound—a transformative experience that promises adventure, learning, and camaraderie.

As the weekend approaches, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families. May it be filled with moments of joy, relaxation, and cherished memories.
Warm regards,
Mark Beresford
