From the Head of Primary 05.04.2024
As another week unfolds at KIS, our students continue to embark on a journey of growth and development. In our classrooms, the spirit of curiosity and discovery thrives as we delve deeper into our curriculum, embedding previous learning while forging ahead to new horizons.
Throughout the week, our dedicated teachers have been fostering an environment where core skills are not just taught, but actively applied and honed. From literacy and numeracy to critical thinking and creativity, our students are equipped with the tools they need to navigate the ever-changing landscape of education and beyond. Through hands-on activities, collaborative projects, and engaging discussions, we strive to instill a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
At the beginning of the week, we bid farewell to our talented athletes as they embarked on an exciting journey to Thailand for the Fobisia Games. Filled with anticipation and excitement, our students represented KIS Primary School with pride and sportsmanship. We eagerly await their return on Monday, eager to hear about their adventures and accomplishments on the international stage.

Back at school, we returned to our wonderful Celebration Assembly, a cherished tradition in the Primary School. This week, our focus turned to an issue of paramount importance: digital safety. Following a successful e-safety coffee morning last week, we took the opportunity to reinforce the message of responsible digital citizenship. Our students were reminded of the importance of speaking to trusted adults if they ever feel concerned , and the significance of using technology responsibly and ethically.
In addition to our discussions on digital safety, we took the time to celebrate the achievements of our students. From stars of the week to the trashless class, and from house winners to recipients of house point certificates, the assembly was filled with applause and admiration for our students’ hard work and dedication.

As we wrap up another eventful week at KIS Primary School, we’d like to remind our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) parents of an upcoming event that you won’t want to miss. On Wednesday, we will be hosting a special coffee morning in the F2 classroom, dedicated to discussing new processes, the EYFS approach, and transitions to Key Stage 1.
This coffee morning provides a wonderful opportunity for parents to gain insights into the unique learning journey of our youngest learners. Ms Gibbons, Ms Chin and Ms Siti will be on hand to share valuable information, answer any questions you may have, and provide guidance on how best to support your child’s development both at home and at school.
Whether you’re a seasoned EYFS parent or new to the journey, we encourage you to join us for what promises to be an informative and engaging session. Together, we can ensure that every child’s transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 1 is smooth, successful, and filled with endless opportunities for growth and exploration.
Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to welcoming you back next week.
