A heads-up for next term..
Earth Week
As you would have read from our email, a series of events will be happening next term during Earth Week. This will be from Monday 17th April to Friday 21st April, to coincide with Earth Day on Saturday 22nd April, a day that has been recognised internationally for more than 70 years.
The Eco Warriors have decided that each day will have a theme and we hope that you and your family are able to participate as much as possible in everything we have planned.
- Meat Free Monday
- Take a Lift Tuesday
- Waste Less Wednesday
- Thrifty Thursday
- Feel Green Friday
‘ Thrifty Thursday ‘
The Eco-Warriors would like to remind everyone to gather up any unwanted clothing over the holidays to donate when we come back. This will be traded at the Swap Shop on Thursday 19th April. Just make sure you get a ticket when you drop your donation off at school!
‘ Waste Less Wednesday’
Within the framework of waste reduction, food packaging in the canteen and takeaway coffee cups in the cafe will be eliminated on the 19th of April (Wednesday). This will not only reduce waste in the school but also spread awareness about the environment and help students practice sustainable behaviours. Instead, students will be informed to bring their own reusable containers to pack any snacks they wish to buy. Kindly note that takeaway coffee cups would also not be offered in the cafe, therefore, you are encouraged to bring your own coffee cups and mugs for takeaway coffee this day.
