Dear KIS Community,

The 10th of October is World Mental Health Day,

with the aim of  raising awareness of mental health issues

around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health. This year’s theme is ‘Mental health is a Universal Human Right’,  you can read about this effort through this link 2023 World Mental Health Global Awareness Campaign.

In conjunction with this, I am pleased to inform you that we will be having a KIS Care Week from the 2nd October until the 6th October. The week will be an opportunity for everyone to pick up positive habits by checking in with themselves despite their busy schedules. We all have a role in improving our own mental health and help to promote good mental health as part of a healthy life.

Secondary and Primary lunchtimes will be filled with relaxing activities which students can choose to enjoy such as mindfulness colouring, mindfulness mile, making calm jars, silent disco and many more! See here for the full timetable

Students, parents, guardians and teachers are welcome to join our ‘Morning Motivation’ everyday during the week from 7.30am to 7.40am at the school’s basketball court (weather permitting of course!). There will be lovely dances and light exercises for everyone to enjoy.

Parents and guardians are invited to volunteer 30 minutes of their time to offer lunchtime activities. Please email me at snaim@kis.edu.my or your child’s class teacher if you like, soonest so that we can help to promote your activity.

Enjoy this video created by KIS Studio ECA students!

Have a pleasant week ahead.
