From the Principal 19.08.2023
What a wonderful week it has been!
Beginning Monday, it was fantastic to welcome back all staff and students on campus after the extended break. As always, there was a healthy mix of excitement and nerves. It was wonderful to see the community back together and if the smiles on show are any indicator of the year ahead, it is sure to be a very successful one!
This week we not only celebrate the return to school, but also the release of the much anticipated IGCSE and A-Level results for examinations undertaken at the end of last academic year. The results were, simply put, outstanding. To all students, staff and parents involved in the journeys of last year’s Year 11, 12 and 13 students, congratulations on all that was achieved. For further details of the results and the amazing journey our KIS students have been on, please read Mrs. Renshaw’s article.
Looking ahead, 2023-24 is shaping up to be a very busy and very exciting year with the culmination of our 50th anniversary celebrations on the horizon, open days, FOBISIA competitions and Duke of Edinburgh trips to name but a few highlights to come in the next few months.
When I’ve had the opportunity to address our community at different stages over the last few weeks, I have sought to share the same message to all staff and students, and I’d like to share it here also to our fantastic parent community. “Be a part of it”. I implore everyone in our community to join in the many great events that take place at KIS; join in coffee mornings, support the PTA, wear your House colours, and endeavor to be a part of all KIS has to offer. When we work, collaborate and share together we strengthen the community and create an even better platform to nurture global citizens.
Please enjoy your weekend,
Sam Gipson
