Smile for Wellbeing

Dear KIS Community,

I am really glad to be back in school and see the smiling faces of students. What I am more grateful for, is that I am able to smile back at them without it being hidden behind a surgical face mask.

I often hear about how smiling can reduce stress. I read that even a ‘partial smile’ everyday while doing our chores, can help to reduce our stress levels. Amazing! Perhaps a new habit we all could take on board as our new year resolution.

I just read an article from the Harvard Medical School webpage, to inform that a study suggested how facial expressions can affect our emotions and that smiling could actually make us feel happier.

I think there is no need to scour for research to know that a smile can also strengthen bonds and relationships. As we re-connect and re-establish new and old relationships, nothing more to suggest except that now is the perfect time to put on a smile!

Till then- see you in the next newsletter.
