Dear KIS Community,
Today the world celebrates Earth Hour, to join in simply turn off all your lights from 8.30pm to 9.30pm and be part of a global experience to raise awareness and spark conversations for our future by protecting the environment that we rely on. Yesterday our Eco-Warriors arranged our own KIS Earth hour from 9am to 10am in support of this initiative.
Our Eco-Warriors continue to be busy and keep us involved, we have been granted a permit to hold our KIS Beach Clean again. This time it will be on April 23rd after the holiday and more details will be available soon. You have all done so well with bringing in your plastic bottles that the date for collection has been extended. Please keep bringing your plastic bottles to put in the green bin outside the main gate. It is much appreciated. The new target is 1000 bottles.
A huge well done and thank you to everyone who was involved in the tremendously popular bake sale held last week. A truly wonderful amount of money was collected in support of those affected by war and you can read much more about this in this week’s newsletter. Thank you all for supporting such a great cause.
We are rapidly approaching the end of the second term (already), with just a week to go please take note that Friday 1st April is the last day of term and Primary students will finish at 11.30am and Secondary at 12pm. Before the last day, we get to celebrate Book Week. Lots of activities including the classic Pyjama day and on Friday a chance to dress up as Heroes and Villains from your favourite books. Another favourite return, is Ice Cream Friday, a chance to enjoy the end of term and support our PTA. Throughout the week the PTA has also arranged a parent book swap which is available in the front office all week. Drop off some books and pick up some new ones to read over the holidays.
