From the Head of Primary 29.01.2022
We all love to read! However, the art of storytelling provides us with another way of communicating and it can be magical for all involved. Performed well, it can be a wonderful shared experience for both the performer and the listener and can offer us an insight into the performer’s world.
As I shared last week, the primary students have been very busy learning the art of storytelling. On Friday we celebrated this, by sharing stories from our home cultures. A huge well done to all those students who took part in this.
On Friday, many of our students came dressed in traditional clothing or colours in order to celebrate Chinese New Year! We began the day with a fantastic whole school assembly led by our wonderful students. A huge thank you to the students and staff members who contributed to this and to the Mandarin Department for the work they put into creating the video for the assembly. The PTA also helped us to celebrate by passing mandarins to the students, as they left on Friday. These are symbols of good fortune. Thank you to the PTA for their wonderful contribution to our celebrations.

A reminder that after the half term break, PASS Club will return from 2pm-3pm, for those students who have siblings in the secondary section of the school.
Please register your child’s place by speaking to Melissa or Sharon in the school office.
The week beginning the 14th February is Parent/Teacher meetings week. Look out for a sign up sheet which will be posted on Class Dojo on Monday 7th February.
Finally I would like to extend a very warm welcome to a number of new students and their families who joined us this week:
Isabel in F1
Ian in F2
Eden in Y1K
Jemy in Y1K
Yunny in Y1K
Ryan in Y3S
Shermaine in Y4K
Have a wonderful CNY break and we will see you all back in school on Monday 7th February.
Until then take care.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Take care.
