Dear KIS Community,

I do like to start the newsletter with a thank you and this week is no exception, our Christmas Angel’s request has had a fantastic response this year and there will be many happy faces this Christmas thanks to your kindness and generosity. Thank you to the KIS community.

Another thank you that has been well deserved has been the sports’ challenge which saw many members of our community getting up and getting out doing some exercise. Today is the big reveal, click on the sports’ page and find out who won the challenge. Well done and thank you Ms Watt for organising and taking the time to update us all.

This past week has certainly been one for celebrations as we welcomed our newest and youngest member of the KIS community. Congratulations to Mr Shaw (Primary) on becoming a father again. Mirren Shaw was born on Wednesday morning, both Mum and baby are doing very well. We also congratulated Ms Dursia on her wedding day yesterday, we wish the new couple all the very best.

In other celebrations, we congratulate and applaud the wonderful achievements of two of our students. The Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards in Malaysia have recognised the examination results for Hitoshi Iguchi in AS level IT and for Ethan Mcelhone in A level PE. Well done, we are proud of you both. They will be joining our high achievement boards at the front of school very shortly.

As we look ahead to after the holidays, a reminder that we have a circuit breaker week. The first week after the holidays will be online, the expectation is we are all at home to do this and therefore help keep the school environment as safe as possible when we are back in the following week. After the circuit breaker and assuming all is OK, we will be reducing our online presence as the expectation for face to face classes return.

For your children’s uniform needs, our school shop is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week from 7.30am to 8.30am. You can also order online and collect from school. As a reminder the old school logo will not be accepted as uniform, this was phased out over a year ago. You can still purchase patches of the correct logo (badge) from the school shop.

Many of you will be aware that a very cute cat made KIS its home during the last school closures. Since the return of the children, she has been an excellent emotional support animal for students and staff. On taking the cat to the vet to be checked and neutered, we discovered she is already pregnant. We are looking for a suitable home for her and if anyone is interested please talk to the school office.

Next week we finish the term on Friday 17th, Mrs Renshaw and Ms Hitchen will be sharing more details. School for Primary will finish at 11.30am and for Secondary at 12pm.

Have a lovely weekend,
