From the PTASC 26.06.2021

As the school year draws to a close it is once again time to reflect on what has gone on in the past 12 months for us as parents. And what a reflection that will be for us all.

Firstly we reflect and give thanks to the outgoing PTASC. What a difficult year for them to try to organise community events when social distancing became the ‘norm’. They have conducted themselves admirably under the circumstances and have come up with creative ways to engage the community throughout the school year. Thanks to each and every one of you for your hard work.

Secondly we reflect and give thanks to the teachers for what can only be described as a more challenging school year than any of us thought possible. Without the hard work of each and every one of you this past year of learning would never have occurred.

Thirdly we reflect and give thanks to the friendships formed with parents, staff and children that are leaving our KIS community after this school year. We will cherish the times we have spent with you and wish you all the best in your future endeavours wherever they may be. To quote Dr Seuss, “don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”.

Lastly we reflect about our own personal year as parents during a pandemic and online learning. We must ensure to give thanks to ourselves for what has been a very challenging year. The saying ‘tomorrow is a new day’ has never meant so little to us all during this school year where we have spent more time at home with our children doing the same routine day in and day out without been able to venture beyond our front doors.

The whole school community has shown a resilience that many of you never knew you had and here’s to a summer of making memories that will last a lifetime with your loved ones.

The PTASC wishes you all an enjoyable and safe summer break.
