From the Head of Primary 12.12.2020
As we head into the final two days of Term One and look forward to the prospect of physically returning to school I really can’t believe where the time has gone. Although the children have not been able to participate in any trips or extracurricular activities this term it has been another action-packed term filled with learning and achievement. On Monday of next week, it will be business as usual with live lessons and specialist day for Early Years. On Tuesday, the children will be able to take part in a number of online Christmas themed activities and school will finish at 12.00pm. There will be a final Primary assembly at 09.00 where among other things we have a little Christmas treat prepared by the staff to share with you. Please see your class timetable which will posted to Dojo before 8am on Monday morning for links. I hope you can join us sporting your Christmas attire.
Some Primary students have recently taken part in the WWF Get Set Global Challenge and did extremely well. So well in fact that KIS won the highest ranked international school prize. The prize is a beautiful set of books on sustainability for the school library and so thank you to all of the children who took part. A special mention must go to Fion and Yanis both in Year 5 who were placed in the top 20 on the student leader board. What an achievement, congratulations!
Finally, I would like to thank our school community for their continued support this term. I know that for some it has sometimes been a struggle to juggle working from home and supporting your children with online learning. Parents, children and staff have shown their resilience and dedication and I can safely say that we are all looking forward to a well-deserved break and returning to school in the New Year.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Mrs Joanne Smith
