Book Week Update 29.02.2019
Book Week is Rapidly Approaching! ‘Robots and Aliens- The Future!’
Just a brief reminder about some of our Book Week 2020 events coming up to make sure we can all participate fully!
Monday 16th March – The Big Book Swap 8- 10am.
Please make sure your child brings a book to swap! This event has always been a great way to share our favourite books, but it only works if we all bring a book to exchange. These need to be handed to class teachers in Primary, and Form Tutors in Secondary, by March 11th.
There’s also a ‘Books for Grown-Ups’ box in the school office, and all parents are welcome to contribute. There will be a separate table for the grown-ups at Book Swap, so if you donate a book, you can come and get a new ‘pre-loved’ book to take home!
Friday 20th March- Character Parade
I hope your costume preparations are going well- this event is always a show-stopper! Teachers are already working on their futuristic character outfits, and I’m really excited about what we’ll see at the Character Parades!
Extreme Reading Photo Competition
All students are invited to enter anytime over the next 5 weeks. All they need to do is submit a photo (by emailing it to me francescolbeck@kis.edu.my) of them reading a book in an unusual or unexpected place- The more unusual, the better! Entries will be judged by SLT and prizes distributed on Friday 20th March.
Thursday 19th March- Primary Pajama Day!
In honour of all those nights spent reading our favourite books in bed when we probably should be sleeping instead! All Primary students are invited to come to school in their PJs, and spend their P5 lesson snuggling down into book dens and reading forts in their classrooms to read or listen to great books.
I can already tell that this year’s Book Week is going to be amazing, and only 2 weeks to wait now!
