On Wednesday 27th November, AIMS schools across Malaysia will hold special events to create awareness of the United Nations Goals for Sustainable Development.

Here at KIS, we are planning a number of informative, inspiring and interesting activities and events to raise awareness of these goals. We have a number of visitors popping in for the day including Ruth who promotes zero waste in Malaysia, Ben and Milena who work with Danau Girang Field Centre on a variety of projects and Jason who works for Scuba Junkie promoting awareness of marine pollution. Alongside this, students will take part in a variety of exciting class based activities which will allow them to explore one or more of the goals, what they mean and how they can help.

Part of our goal for the day is to bring awareness to our wider KIS community and inspire you to make a change in your life, therefore we would like to invite all parents to a Zero Waste Talk presented by Ruth Yapp at 1.20pm on Wednesday 27th November in the school hall.

As well, we would like to ask all to contribute to the following ‘Share -A- Toy Drive’, in order to raise awareness on the importance of reusing or regifting to reduce our waste.

We invite all students to bring in an unused toy, in good condition, so that it can be passed onto a less fortunate child who will cherish it. Students will be available at the entrance to the school on the 27th November with a collection box.

We hope this event will inspire you and your children to make a change to help the future of our world, however small that may be.
