KIS Graduation 2016
Kinabalu International School’s Sixth Form students celebrated the end of their studies with a Graduation Ceremony at the Theatre at Sutera Harbour Marina on June 17.
The evening started with a musical performance from one of the school’s Primary students playing violin followed by a welcome by the Head of Sixth Form, Margaret Renshaw, and the School Principal, Alan Connah. The school’s Head Boy and Head Girl gave a speech reflecting on their time at KIS and their excitement at the opportunities now ahead of them. The guest speaker for the evening, Mr Robert New, Honorary British Consul for Sabah, then addressed the attending students, staff and parents with an inspiring speech and presented each student with a graduation certificate. On behalf of all the graduating students, Seri Park and Maxime Porcheron gave a speech thanking their parents, teachers and classmates for supporting them through their education and Chelsie Oan thanked Mr. New and Mrs. Renshaw. There was a further musical performance before the guests enjoyed a fantastic buffet on the balcony.
The graduating students have already received offers to top universities to continue their studies and now await their final results in August, before final confirmation of their places. KIS is now in its fourth year of delivering the world’s most widely recognised pre-university course and its results have been consistently above the UK average.
