Congratulations Sapi Sunbears who were crowned the Congratulations Sapi Sunbears who were crowned the Secondary Sports Day Champions 2023 yesterday! The blue sky, yellow sun and red track were a perfect compliment and backdrop for the red, yellow and blue colours of our three house teams as they assembled at Likas Stadium for the highly anticipated day. We witnessed exhilarating performances, with students demonstrating tremendous amounts of team spirit, sportspersonship and character as they battled throughout the day to see which House would emerge triumphant. The event was hugely supported by parents who were able to witness some incredible athletic feats with numerous records broken throughout the day. Congratulations to our entire Secondary school for their efforts on the Secondary Sports Day!
Highlights from the recent Year 4 Showcase Extrava Highlights from the recent Year 4 Showcase Extravaganza! Our brilliant experts took visitors on a journey through time as 8 groups unveiled the secrets of ancient Vikings, Mayans, Greeks, and Romans! Guests were issued 'time travel passports', which took them through a riveting exploration of ancient wondersโ€”from the historical recipes to interesting fashion statements and spiritual beliefs of each civilisation. Our little historians enthusiastically interacted with visitors and their creativity shone through captivating displays featuring maps, fact files, models, food platter models and engaging games they've created on ipads and laptops! Well done Year 4 and our fantastic teaching teams!
Learning beyond the classroom! Geography is the st Learning beyond the classroom! Geography is the study of our earth and how the people, places & earth systems all interact. This term Year 8 has been investigating various physical geographical landscapes from the limestone caves systems underground at Mulu to our rocky coastlines & in particular the features of our Sabah coast along our fringing coral reefs. On a field trip last week, students had the opportunity to see firsthand these coastal physical environments and processes occurring as well as develop their practical primary data collection skills. After learning with @scuba_junkie how to snorkel, our students did 2 sets of systematic data collection, snorkeling at two contrasting reef locations at Sapi, counting fish, identifying species and rating the impacts which people have had on the reefs and the marine environment. After a tasty lunch and break, more Geographical methods and equipment were used to continue to test a range of hypotheses about coastal processes of erosion, transport and deposition. More than 589kg of trash cleared off Teluk Likas! More than 589kg of trash cleared off Teluk Likas! Thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers who came down on Sunday for our collaboration with Trash Hero Kota Kinabalu ! More than 85 children, parents and teachers taking part across the morning where we cleaned up a massive amount of trash! This was a hugely successful event and Trash Hero commended all children who took part for their engagement in this important environmental issue.

The โ€˜Share-A-Memory Wallโ€™ was a hit and was filled with personal photos from the community,sharing their most loved memories from as far as 10 years ago. The gallery walk brought visitors down memory lane ,with boards displaying the evolution of the school and interesting written pieces from the 40th anniversary time capsule!
